Bro. and Sis. J are originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived and traveled in the Caribbean for over 43 years. God has used them to establish many and varied ministries on the island of Antigua. They have two sons, Matt and Mitch - and 5 grandchildren.
IBYC was founded by the Johnsons in 1978. Sister J had a burden for the youth of the Caribbean,
and in God's timing it became a reality. God has kept IBYC going for over 32 years. Praise Him!

When IBYC began there was nothing being done in the region to address the issues young people          face during their teenage and young adult years - a time when life changing decisions must be                made. IBYC has helped fill this gap. God has done "exceeding, abundantly, above all that we could        ask, or think."

Our purpose during the week of conference is not necessarily evangelism though we always desire to see souls saved. IBYC strives to build Christian youth of grit and grace ... of beauty, with the strength of genuine Christian character. The young people come together to edify and encourage one another. It is a time for them to get to know one another and realize that others in the Caribbean have the same goals, and face the same problems.

Friendship and fellowship are essential to the future effectiveness of the ministries of the Independent Baptist Churches in the Caribbean.
