WHO IS NOT WELCOME AT IBYC
Carnal Christians who are always looking for a good time. Without personal commitment. Young people, interested only in themselves and their own personal comfort. Young people with an unloving spirit that expresses itself in a critical, self-righteous attitude. Such persons gender strife and sow discord among brethren. Attending IBYC is a privilege, not a right. Any person with a rebellious spirit will be banned from the campus or removed to an “adult” dorm for the duration of the conference. Rebellion is infectious.
YOU MIGHT BE EXCUSED FROM SESSIONS ON THE FOLLOWING: *SICKNESS MUST BE GENUINE AND IN THE CATEGORY OF LEPROSY, ETC. “HEADACHE,” “NAUSEA,” “I CAN'T MAKE IT,” “TOO SLEEPY AND TOO TIRED” ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FROM KIDS WHO SPEND THEIR NIGHTS TALKING AND GIGGLING. SLEEPY HEADS DURING THE DAY ARE USUALLY WIDE AWAKE AT NIGHT.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
It is doctrine and discipleship that make us different! God appoints teachers and preachers and they are warned against changing God’s Word. We “teach” with music, too, and the message must not be confused by either the background music or the actions which accompany it. God is very specific in the methods, we must use. The Gospel cuts, confronts & convicts men of sin, and is offensive to the pride of man, as a result. It does not soothe and entertain... The Lord Jesus Christ laid out the requirements of discipleship very plainly and did not make any effort to “sweeten” them to please carnal and sinful man. He did not pursue those who refused His message. Today, we need preaching instead of, pleasure. power instead of pageantry, and principles of doctrine instead of pacifiers . AT IBYC, our desire is to keep our priorities in the right place. Preaching and teaching are primary. Music is secondary and should be complimentary. We never want to get into a position where the tail is wagging the dog. |
